We covered note reading, chord building, bar chords, figuring out chord and lead lines from recorded music, proper finger style guitar playing, electric blues, alternate tunings, and composition. After he released some of his first few songs, I asked him: "Who taught you how to play like that?" He said: "You did with a smile." I replied: "Nope, you did. I just gave you the tools."
